Fit For Felix is a crowdfunding campaign created to support the needs of a very brave boy:
Felix Barrow was knocked down by a car outside his home in October 2015. He was flown to Southampton General Hospital by the Hampshire & IOW Air Ambulance, and placed in a medically-induced coma. Among his many injures, Felix had suffered a traumatic brain injury, which was severe and potentially life-limiting. Read the full story as told by his parents here.
In the care of the amazing staff at Southampton General Hospital Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, Felix made remarkable progress in his determination to walk again. This campaign was set up to help pay for the day-to-day care that Felix requires since he left hospital – including physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech therapy, counselling, and the likely modifications required to the family home. Donate using the options on this screen, or download a sponsorship form here.
If you wish to donate to a recognised charity, we encourage you to support the two named below because of the extraordinary support they provided Felix on his incredible journey so far:
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA)
Registered Charity Number 1106234
It costs £125,000 every month to keep the air ambulance flying, and it has recently been equipped so it can operate at night. This could not be achieved without personal donations and Lottery funding. Learn more about the helicopter here, or donate direct here.
Southampton General Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
Registered charity number 1116880
Southampton General Hospital is known as having one of the foremost Paediatric Care Units in the country. Now we know why. Friends of PICU exists to raise money to support the unit, the children and their families by sourcing equipment for the unit that is not usually provided by the statutory authorities.
